Two states taking turns — and both frames have to be said twice.
The rule
B = now A, now B — two states alternating, in writing:
B — same idea, SPOKEN, over a shorter span:
B — the neutral one, simply sometimes.
All three frames must be said twice; once is a fragment. 忽然 is different: one sudden event, used once.
