连 … 都/也 — even

규칙 连 A 都/也 B = even A does B. A is the most EXTREME case, named so the rest follows.
连小孩子都知道。 (if a child knows, everyone does)
The 都 or 也 is COMPULSORY; without it the sentence is broken: 连他知道 is WRONG.
What follows 连 may be a subject, an object, or a whole verb phrase: 他连饭都没吃。
一 + measure + 也/都 + negative is its close relative: 一个人也没有。
