HSK 3 · 被
The 被 passive
Chinese uses the passive far less than English does — and usually when something went wrong.
The rule
A 被 B + verb + something else: 我的手机被他拿走了。
The agent may be left out: 我的手机被拿走了。
没 goes BEFORE 被, exactly as with 把: 蛋糕没被吃完。
Do not translate the English passive on autopilot — Chinese often keeps the sentence active.
