HSK 4 · 稍微…一点儿

稍微 … 一点儿 — just a little

稍微 nearly always drags a 一点儿 or 一些 behind it; without one the sentence is unfinished.

The rule 稍微 + verb or adjective + 一点儿/一些 — the frame nearly always needs all three parts:
请稍微等一下。 这件衣服稍微大一点儿。
稍微 does not stand alone before an adjective: 稍微大 sounds cut off; it must be 稍微大一点儿。
有点儿 goes BEFORE the adjective and grumbles: 这件衣服有点儿大。
一点儿 goes AFTER and is neutral: 大一点儿。 稍微 marks a very small degree; 有点儿 marks one worth complaining about.
