得以, 予以, 足以, 给予
Four verbs that exist only to carry another verb, and each demands a different shape.
The rule
得以 + VERB = was thereby able to: 在大家帮助下，问题得以解决。 The subject is the thing done.
予以 + TWO-SYLLABLE VERB = to accord, to deal with — administrative prose: 对违规行为予以处理。
足以 + VERB = enough to: 这些证据足以说明问题。
给予 + PERSON + NOUN = to give someone something: 学校给予他很大帮助。
They differ by what follows: 得以 and 足以 take a verb, 予以 a two-syllable verb, 给予 a person and a noun.
