One thing after another: 先, 然后, 最后
Three markers for a sequence, all of which follow the subject rather than lead the clause.
规则
先 A，然后 B，最后 C — the frame for telling a sequence in order.
All three are ADVERBS: after the subject, before the verb — 我先吃饭，然后看书。
再 replaces 然后 when the sequence has not happened yet: 你先休息，再学习。
最后 closes the chain; with only two steps it is not needed.
