Word order: time, place, verb

In Chinese the place comes BEFORE the verb — the opposite of English.

規則 The frame: subject + time + place + verb + object.
我今天在家看书。 — English says I read at home today; Chinese runs the other way round.
A time word may jump ahead of the subject: 今天我在家看书。 A place may not.
都, 也 and 不 are adverbs and sit right before the verb: 我们都是学生。
